Destiny 2: 8 Habits Every Guardian Knows in 2026

Destiny 2 Guardian habits include Tower parkour, Riven cheese, fashion endgame, and god-roll heartbreak.

I’ve been a Guardian since the D1 days, and even in 2026—after The Final Shape, the episodes, and whatever fresh chaos Bungie has cooked up—I still fall into the same rhythms. Destiny 2 is a massive game, a beautiful mess, and my favorite hobby all rolled into one. Whether I’m running a raid with my clan or solo-queuing into the Crucible, I keep catching myself doing the exact same things as every other player. No cap, these habits are practically baked into the Light.

1. Parkour Around The Tower

Every session starts with a Tower visit. I load in, sprint to the postmaster, and delete 20+ blues that Kadi-55 has been hoarding for me. She takes it like a champ. But I can’t just leave after that. Oh no. I have to spend at least one minute jumping on guard rails, riding the courtyard fans, or kicking the soccer ball around. It’s a ritual. If I don’t jump off the Tower before logging out, I feel like I’m tempting fate. Good luck, right?

2. Dismantle Powerful Gear

The Power Level chase is real. A new season drops, and I’m grinding weeklies for Powerful Gear like it’s my job. Then I go to clean my inventory, checking rolls, deleting trash—and boom. I just sharded the one drop that was supposed to raise my Power. The grind is invalidated. It happens to the best of us. I’ve learned to lock anything with a yellow border now, but the damage is already done.

3. Cheese Riven

Every Last Wish run has to include the Riven cheese. I’ve cleared Kalli, Shuro Chi, Morgeth, and the vault. I’ve watched the guides. I know the callouts. I’m ready for a legit fight. Then my raid leader says, 'Yeah, we’re just gonna cheese it. Follow me.' And we do. Joining Allies, out-of-bounds, Heavy ammo—boom, dead dragon. I don’t feel shame. If someone complains, I ask them one question: 'When was the last time you beat Riven legit?' Crickets.

4. Embark On The Fashion Endgame

A Guardian’s drip is just as important as their loadout. I’ll spend hours in my inventory, cycling shaders and ornaments, trying to make my Titan look like a walking tank from a sci-fi anime. Next thing I know, I’m farming Gambit for Gambit Jadestone or running Dares of Eternity for old armor sets. Beating a raid boss is one thing. Beating the fashion endgame is a whole different beast. Fashion is the true endgame, and I’m here for it.

5. Accidentally Delete A God Roll

RNG is a cruel mistress. I spend weeks farming for a 5/5 god roll. It finally drops, but my inventory is full. It goes to the postmaster. I visit the Tower, start deleting blues and dupes, and then… wait. The god roll is gone. I just sharded the weapon I’ve been chasing for a month. That’s when I remember the lock button exists. I lock everything now. Then I somehow dismantle a god roll I didn’t even know was good. The cycle continues.

6. 'I Hate Destiny. It's My Favorite Game.'

The more I play, the more I see the flaws. Farming a raid Exotic is a special kind of torture. Weeks of LFG teams, nonsensical strategies, and Champions that make me want to scream 'artificial difficulty.' I still have nightmares about a botched Divinity run in Garden of Salvation. Vex Mythoclast didn’t drop for 36 clears, so I went to Reddit and wrote a thesis about drop rates. Then it finally dropped on run 37. It felt amazing. A friend logs on and asks if Destiny is good. I say, 'I hate Destiny. It's my favorite game.'

7. Punch Explosive Enemies

Most problems in Destiny 2 can be solved with a good punch. Titan mains know this in their bones. When Thrall swarm me, I start throwing hands. Some of them are glowing. Even better. Next thing I know, I’m a Ghost floating over my own corpse. That glowing enemy was a Cursed Thrall—an explosive barrel with legs. Do I learn? No. I punch it again. That’s the Titan way.

8. Death By The Architects

Humanity’s greatest threat isn’t the Darkness or the Vex. It’s the physics engine. Walking up to a Cabal Phalanx’s shield is a coin flip. I might take damage, or I might get flung into space. There’s no in-between. The Duality dungeon proves this. Flamethrowers launch me. Psion gravity attacks launch me. The boss launches me. I’m more likely to die by hitting a wall than by getting shot. In 2026, the Architects are still undefeated. Let’s hope the next saga doesn’t make them canon.

Final Thoughts

These habits connect every Guardian, from the sweatiest PvP main to the casual blueberry. I’ve done all of them, and I’ll probably do them again tomorrow. Destiny 2 is a game of rituals, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. If you see me in the Tower, don’t be surprised if I’m jumping on a railing or dancing after a failed Riven cheese. Eyes up, Guardian. 🎮✨
