Destiny 2: Every Memory of Darkness Location in Ghost of the Deep (2026)

Ghost of the Deep's 'In Memoriam' Triumph unlocks Navigator Exotic Trace Rifle, but finding all 12 collectible memories stumps solo Guardians.

Guardians still chasing the Ghost of the Deep title and that elusive Navigator Exotic Trace Rifle know the drill: the 'In Memoriam' Triumph is a must. Even in 2026, three years after Season of the Deep splashed onto our screens, this dungeon’s 12 collectible memories remain a real doozy for solo players and fireteams alike. Not only do these audio logs dish out juicy lore about Xivu Arath and her fallen brother Oryx – the big bad from the King’s Fall raid – but they’re also your ticket to the title. Two of them are locked behind boss encounters, so don’t expect a walk in the park if you’re riding solo.

The First Steps – Memories 1 & 2

Right out of the gate, the first memory is hidden in plain sight. As soon as you spawn, take a few steps forward and keep your peepers peeled for two fallen trees on your right. Crouch through the little passage beneath them and you’ll find a secret room bathed in red light. Head downstairs, walk straight past the half-wall, and grab the blue glowing doodad on the ground – that’s memory #1.

After the Ritual encounter and opening the big door, you’ll reach a circular room where you need to plunge into the depths. When you land on that metal platform and dodge the spinning blades, look for a breached fence on the wall. Hop through it, use the red-and-white cubes as a makeshift staircase, and shimmy through a cracked window up high. Just inside, the second memory sits near a red fuse – impossible to miss if you’re not rushing like a headless chicken.

Purple Room and Rotating Platform Peril – Memories 3 & 4

Post-memory #2, drop through a round tunnel into a room overflowing with alien flora. Continue straight into a chamber bathed in – depending on your eyes – purple or pink light. Clamber onto the central cylinders, look left, and you’ll spot a ledge with some plants; the third memory is snuggled right there.

Now comes the first proper pitfall. After clearing the next room of Hive nasties, you‘ll jump down a hole into a cylinder. This is where many a Guardian has goofed. Don’t exit immediately. Stand on the edge, look down, and you’ll see three rotating platforms. Leap onto the one spinning on top of the others, then ride it around until the memory appears on the tall central bar. Sneaky, eh?

Into the Deep – Memories 5 through 8

From here on out, it’s a watery ride. Your first dive lands you in front of a half-open door with red backlight. Behind it, you‘ll scoop up memory #5. Next, exit and look for a breached glass wall with a lamp and a bubble – your exit point. Jump off and immediately look down; you need to land on the third metal platform (not the first, not the second). It’s a bit finicky, but with a cool head it’s a piece of cake. On that platform, pass a giant fan, head upstairs, turn left, and grab memory #6.

Then use the fan to float up, traverse another cylinder, and keep diving until you see a closed round gate and pillars. Only one pillar has a lit red lamp; next to it, scattered glass shards mark the spot. Follow the shards, but don’t jump off – turn left, cling to the ledge, and memory #7 is waiting around the first corner. After that, you’ll hit the "Reach The Wreckage" checkpoint. When you land in the watery room, ignore the dark path and head toward the lit lamp at the far end of the brighter route. Memory #8 is right in front of that lamp.

Light Sources and Sewer Rats – Memories 9 & 10

Once you’re swimming in the open ocean, you’ll spot a giant source of light in the distance. After using a bubble to breathe, turn right instead of swimming straight. At the end of that little detour, memory #9 lies in wait. Then, upon entering the Hive tunnels proper, you’ll reach a room with multiple tunnel entrances and a blocked gate. Count the top row of tunnels – the fourth one is the real McCoy. It leads to a bridge. Look right for a sewer pipe spewing water; jump into it to snag memory #10. A bit gross, but totally worth it.

The Boss Gauntlet – Memories 11 & 12

Now for the tough cookies. After defeating Ecthar, the first boss, you’ll traverse a Hive tunnel. Immediately on the left, a blocked gate is your cue – memory #11 sits behind it. Simple enough, but you’ve got to earn that kill first.

The final memory only spawns after putting the last boss in the dirt. Once the loot chest pops in Oryx’s heart, grab your goodies, then look left. Follow the path through a watery gate, and you’ll be in a room that once housed a Rune Symbol holder. Spot the Hive icon and align it with the green circle (a bit of a fiddly jump onto a plant does the trick). When the icon vanishes, walk straight toward where it was, crouch through a small passage, and you’ll unearth memory #12 inside a tiny cave.

A Few Nuggets of Advice for Solo Adventurers

Ghost of the Deep remains one of the crunchiest solo dungeons around. The boss-locked memories demand you actually tickle Ecthar and the final bigwig, which isn’t for the faint-hearted. Pack your best DPS loadouts, a trusty sword or eager edge, and plenty of patience. The underwater sections can be a real pressure cooker if you don’t manage your air bubbles. But chin up – once you’ve grabbed all 12 memories, that title and the Navigator are yours.

Even in 2026, braving the methane depths still feels like a proper achievement. Whether you’re in it for the lore or the bragging rights, these memories are your bread and butter. Good luck, Guardian. Eyes up, and don‘t let the darkness bite.
