Destiny 2 No Reprieve God Roll: My 2026 Melee Shotgun Obsession

Destiny 2 No Reprieve God Roll: this Stasis shotgun shreds close-range PvP and melee PvE. Farm Ketchcrash, craft it, dominate.

I have a confession: I am hopelessly addicted to punching aliens in Destiny 2. So when a Stasis shotgun called No Reprieve showed up back in Season of Plunder, I didn't just farm it—I made it my entire personality. In 2026, the sandbox has been through more reworks than my vault has unfinished catalysts, but this little pirate gun still has a special place in my melee-loving heart. Why? Because the No Reprieve God Roll turns every close-range scrap into a slugfest where I'm the one doing the slugging.

What Makes No Reprieve So Punchy?

No Reprieve is a Stasis Legendary Shotgun that joined Destiny 2 in Season of Plunder. Each pirate-themed weapon from that season is extremely fun, and they can drop from the new activities. Shotguns primarily excel in PvP, but certain perks make No Reprieve a great option in PvE content. The God Roll for this weapon deals tremendous damage and is perfect for a melee-oriented build. Is that not exactly what every crayon-eating Titan, knife-flipping Hunter, and floating space wizard secretly wants? Of course it is.

How I Got My No Reprieve (And How You Can Too)

Season of Plunder introduced two new repeatable activities for Guardians to enjoy. Ketchcrash lets players attack and board enemy Ketches. These are massive ships that the Fallen use to travel the galaxy. In this fun 6-player activity, Guardians quite literally shoot themselves out of a cannon onto the enemy vessel, making their way to the captain. Expeditions are ground-based missions that allow for the discovery of buried treasure. Nothing says "pirate adventure" like being fired from a cannon and then digging up someone else's loot, right?

Ketchcrash and Expeditions are the primary way of obtaining No Reprieve and the other seasonal pirate-themed weapons. Additionally, Guardians can focus on Umbral Engrams at the Star Chart in the H.E.L.M. However, this requires that the Focused Weapons Spoils upgrade be unlocked first. Guardians also need 12 Plundered Umbral Energy to focus a specific seasonal weapon, or half of that for a random gun. This currency comes from Season of Plunder activities. Those who are lucky may also receive a Deepsighted No Reprieve when focusing.

Crafting the No Reprieve God Roll

Like the other Season of Plunder weapons, No Reprieve can be crafted at The Enclave. Guardians need to obtain five red-bordered versions of this Shotgun. Some players may not know, but a recent update made it so that Deepsighted guns can be dismantled to immediately unlock progress for the Pattern. That means fewer tears, more crafting. The God Roll for No Reprieve can be found below:

Slot Perk Why I Love It
Barrel Arrowhead Break Significantly controls recoil and increases handling speed.
Magazine Assault Mag Improves fire rate while significantly increasing stability.
Origin Trait Right Hook Dealing melee damage gives increased target acquisition and range for a short period.
Perk 1 Pugilist Final blows with the weapon generate melee energy while dealing melee damage briefly improves handling.
Perk 2 Swashbuckler Gives a stacking damage buff from melee kills and kills with the weapon.

Why This Roll Still Slaps in 2026

Destiny 2's Season of Plunder weapons come with the Origin Trait Right Hook. Dealing melee damage gives this weapon increased target acquisition and range for a short period. This ties in with both God Roll perk choices. Pugilist makes final blows with the weapon generate melee energy while dealing melee damage briefly improves handling. Finally, Swashbuckler gives No Reprieve a stacking damage buff from melee kills and kills with the weapon. This God Roll capitalizes on the Origin Trait and the close-range effectiveness of Shotguns.

So why do I still care in 2026? Because the loop is beautiful. Punch something, get Right Hook. Shoot something, get melee energy. Punch something again, get Swashbuckler stacks. Then shoot the next poor fool in the face and watch the damage numbers climb like my unhinged enthusiasm for loot. Is it the flashiest gun in the current sandbox? No. Is it the one I grab when I want to shoulder-charge a Champion and then apologize to its Ghost? Absolutely.

My Biased Melee Build Notes

  • On Titan, pair it with Synthoceps and pretend you are a walking demolition derby. 🛡️

  • On Hunter, Liar's Handshake makes the punch-shoot-punch rhythm feel illegal. 🗡️

  • On Warlock, Necrotic Grips turns every melee kill into a plague party. 🧪

Currently, Guardians will have a hard time finding a better weapon for a melee-focused build in Destiny 2. Sure, 2026 has plenty of shiny new toys, but No Reprieve remains a pirate-flavored problem solver. If you have the pattern, craft it. If you don't, go focus some Umbral Engrams and pray to RNGesus. What's the worst that could happen—you accidentally enjoy a shotgun? I thought so.
