Destiny 2: Sails of the Shipstealer Week 6 Was a Space Pirate Soap Opera

Relive Destiny 2 Season of Plunder's Sails of the Shipstealer Week 6 questline, Steps 42-49, with Ketchcrash and Pirate Hideout tips.

I have a confession: in 2026, I still hear Drifter saying brother in my nightmares. Season of Plunder ended years ago, but my brain refuses to delete the Sails of the Shipstealer questline. So here I am, reliving Week 6, Steps 42 through 49, because apparently I hate free time. And because the Lucent Hive crashing a pirate party is still one of the funniest things Destiny 2 has ever done.

Step 42: The Star Chart Says Drifter Has Opinions

Head to the H.E.L.M. and interact with the Star Chart. You will receive a transmission from Drifter. He expresses false shock at Mithrax's dark past being revealed. He shakes it off easily. He knows all too well the desire to keep a dark past hidden. He even invokes Crow. He understands Eido's anger, and he understands Mithrax's desire to keep it hidden, but it does not shake his determination to stop Eramis from her evil mission.

Drifter also reveals that he knew what the relics were all along. He recognized them right away, from his trip to the Fourth Tomb of Nezarec. Their power is dangerous, so he is glad to have you on for the ride. Eris has also offered some ideas for how to harness the power safely.

Step 43: Expedition Treasure Chest and Ketchcrash

Full text: Loot and Expedition bonus Treasure Chest and complete Ketchcrash activities. Master Ketchcrash completions grant additional progress.

Make sure you equip a treasure map on your Captain's Atlas in order to loot the bonus treasure at the end of the Expedition.

As far as Ketchcrash goes, you need to complete 5 Ketchcrash activities in order to advance this step, or complete one Master Ketchcrash. If you have a reliable fireteam at your disposal, the Master Ketchcrash should be a piece of cake. Otherwise, get to grinding. I chose grinding. My back still hurts.

Step 44: Pirate Hideout: The Coward, Ruined by the Hive

Full text: You have located a Pirate Hideout deep in the Themis Cluster. Infiltrate the hideout and claim the relic within.

Navigate to the H.E.L.M. and launch the Pirate Hideout: Vrisk, the Coward activity from the left side of the H.E.L.M. map menu. Like in previous weeks, you are invading a Pirate Hideout in order to defeat the captain and acquire another Relic of Darkness before Eramis does.

But it is not Eramis you should have worried about here. Spider's associates heard that the mysterious third party who has been seeking these Relics might have already attacked. When you storm the Pirate Hideout, you discover the Lucent Hive are currently attacking the Eliksni pirates within.

As you storm the base, you discover that Vrisk, the Coward has already been slain. You instead need to defeat Ei Arat, Trespasser, the leader of the Lucent Hive invaders. You battle off several waves of enemies between weakening Ei Arat.

Remember: once you defeat Ei Arat, you need to run up and destroy their Ghost. Otherwise, they will respawn, and you will need to slay them again. After you destroy Ei Arat and their Ghost, retrieve the Relic of Darkness.

Step 45: Conversation in the Eliksni Quarter

Full text: Eido wishes to speak with Drifter in the Eliksni Quarter.

Navigate to the H.E.L.M. and travel to Last City: Eliksni Quarter. Upon arrival, when facing The Ether Tank, turn slightly to the right. You will spot Drifter and Eido standing together. Approach them to witness their conversation.

Eido admonishes Drifter for keeping some secrets, but they quickly move past that into discussing the Lucent Hive's interest in the Relics. The conversation eventually shifts over to Mithrax and Eido's disagreement. Drifter understands her frustrations, but he emphasizes how Mithrax's shame in his past is a powerful motivator to hiding that part of himself, especially from his daughter.

Step 46: Mithrax and the Holoprojector of Shame

Mithrax discusses the secrets of his old life. He expresses shame at what a horrible person he used to be. He is determined to heal the rift forming between him and his daughter. He is determined to overcome that dark past.

Step 47 and 48: Spider's Rigged Little Game

Spider is interested in playing his little game in the Ether Tank again. Head around the corner and speak with him to get started. You are offered a selection of Spider's Special Engrams. Choose one to receive a Deepsight Resonance seasonal weapon and complete the step.

Then speak with Spider again. Spider continues to be frustrated at your good luck, since his aim is to ultimately cheat you. He is determined to beat you at this little game of his. Eido chimes in again that she has set up a relay to block all interference attempts in the future.

Step 49: Wait for the Next Steps, Obviously

Mithrax, Eido, and the gang need some time to review the new Relic and prepare for what is to come. In the meantime, head to the H.E.L.M. and deposit the new Relic to get some extra dialogue regarding these Relics of Nezarec.

Bonus Lore: Eido Writes a Letter

Eido sends a one-way message to Eramis. She attempts to reason with the Kell of House Salvation, that they could have peace, but not so long as Eramis allies herself to the Witness. She makes a case for allying against the forces of Darkness, for abandoning this pursuit of vengeance and the destruction of the forces of Light.

My 2026 Verdict

Step What I Did How I Felt
42 Listened to Drifter Suspiciously entertained
43 Grinded Ketchcrash Like a space pirate intern
44 Killed Lucent Hive Confused but thrilled
45 Eavesdropped on family therapy Awkward
46 Watched Mithrax feel bad Sad
47-48 Gambled with Spider Rigged
49 Waited Classic Destiny

So that was Week 6 of Sails of the Shipstealer. It was messy, dramatic, and weirdly wholesome. Drifter gave us the space dad energy we did not ask for. Eido tried to fix her family. Mithrax sulked in hologram form. Spider cheated at cards and lost anyway. And the Lucent Hive showed up to a pirate hideout like they were the health inspector.

In 2026, I can safely say this questline aged like fine space rum. If you are replaying it or just reading old guides while waiting for the next Destiny 2 expansion, remember: always destroy the Ghost. Always equip your treasure map. And never trust Spider. 🏴☠️
