Destiny 2 Week 8 Seasonal Challenge Walkthrough
Master this week's Destiny 2 Seasonal Challenges with our guide, earning Bright Dust and XP efficiently through optimal builds and farming spots.
In Destiny 2, Seasonal Challenges are the perfect excuse to dive into every corner of the game, from Strikes to the Crucible. Each week brings a fresh batch of objectives that not only push you through the Season Pass but also reward a healthy pile of Bright Dust for the Eververse. This week’s challenges might feel like a victory lap for seasoned Guardians, offering a mix of easy kills, orb generation, and a few playlist-specific tasks. Whether you’re chasing XP or just want to stock up on cosmetics, this guide has all the tips, builds, and farming spots you need.

Filamentary Magic

Objective: Defeat targets with Strand, Arc, or Solar Supers. Bonus progress for defeating Guardians.
Right out of the gate, this one asks for 100 Super kills—preferably with a subclass that crackles, burns, or weaves. If the Mayhem playlist is active, you’re in for a treat. Supers recharge in seconds, and the progress flies by. Just hop into the Crucible and let loose with something like Blade Barrage or Thundercrash. For weeks when Mayhem is taking a nap, the Grasp of Avarice dungeon is your new best friend. Head into the opening encounter, grab the Burdened by Riches debuff, and watch your Super bar refill completely at 10 stacks. Spam away. Don’t own the 30th Anniversary Pack? No drama—Altars of Summoning offers plenty of red bars and a relaxed pace to build up those kills.
Ponderous Orbs

Objective: Generate 100 Orbs of Power and find a hidden chest in Savathûn’s Spire.
This one’s a two-parter, and the Orb part is honestly a breeze if your build knows how to party. Mods like Firepower and Heavy Handed turn grenade and melee kills into Orb factories. Slap a Power Preservation mod on your helmet, pop a roaming Super, and you’ll be swimming in little glowing balls before you know it. The hidden chest, on the other hand, takes a bit of exploration. Savathûn’s Spire likes to tuck its secrets away during jumping puzzles, and the location changes weekly. If you find yourself stuck, a quick peek at a community video guide will set you straight—just look for the latest week’s spot.
Precision Paraphysics

Objective: Defeat targets with Bows or Hand Cannons. Bonus progress for defeating Guardians or fighting in seasonal activities.
Two hundred kills may sound grindy, but you can slice that in half by sticking to seasonal activities. Altars of Summoning is the go-to here—endless waves of enemies, tight spaces, and nothing but you and your trusty weapon. Exotics are the stars of the show: Trinity Ghoul clears entire rooms with a single arrow, Le Monarque poisons everything it touches, and Sunshot turns crowds into firework displays. Pick your poison, load up the activity, and let the adds do the dying.
Punch Drunk

Objective: Get powered melee final blows in ritual playlists.
Vanguard Ops is the place to be for this one. The enemy density in modern strikes and Battlegrounds means you’ll trip over one hundred powered melee kills in no time. Each class has a build that turns punching into poetry:
-
Hunter: Go Arcstrider with Combination Blow and Lethal Current. Liar’s Handshake cranks the damage, or Assassin’s Cowl keeps you invisible and alive.
-
Titan: Sunbreaker with Throwing Hammer and Roaring Flames is the classic. Synthoceps make every hammer feel like a freight train.
-
Warlock: Dawnblade’s Incinerating Snap works wonders—ignitions from the snap count as melee kills. Heat Rises and Dawn Chorus keep the melee energy flowing.
Flourish of Power

Objective: Defeat Guardians in the Mayhem playlist with Super abilities.
Mayhem is back, and the Crucible is a glorious mess of flying Hammers, crackling Arc Staffs, and the occasional panic Nova Bomb. You need 25 Super kills, which sounds like a lot until you realize your Super bar fills up faster than you can say “chaos.” Hunters can lean on Blade Barrage for instant multikills, Titans have Thundercrash for dramatic entrances, and Warlocks can rain down Chaos Reach across the map. It’s a cakewalk—just queue up, embrace the madness, and you’ll be done in a match or two.
Boss Battle

Objective: Defeat bosses in strikes or Vanguard playlists.
Strap in, because this is a marathon, not a sprint. Twenty bosses need to fall, and by “boss,” the game means those ultra-class enemies at the end of each strike or Battleground. There’s no secret speedrun trick here—just queue into Vanguard Ops whenever you’re working on pinnacle rewards or ranking up, and let the kills happen naturally. Throw on a podcast, zone out, and before long you’ll be staring at a hefty 100,000 XP reward.
Kinetic Forces

Objective: Get final blows with Kinetic weapons. Bonus progress for defeating Guardians.
Time to let the plain bullets do the talking. You need 150 Kinetic weapon kills, and while the Crucible offers bonus progress, a high-density PvE activity like Savathûn’s Spire is far less stressful. Some Kinetic weapons practically beg to be used: Osteo Striga melts everything with poison, Witherhoard turns chokepoints into corpse piles, Malfeasance slaps Taken enemies into next week, and Huckleberry’s endless magazine never asks for a reload. Equip your favorite, find a crowd, and hold down the trigger.
Whether you’re capping the Season Pass or hoarding Bright Dust for a rainy day, this week’s challenges are some of the most straightforward you’ll see. With the right loadout and a little patience, they’re practically free rewards.
