Earning Silver Ash in Destiny 2's 2026 Solstice: A Guardian's Story
Destiny 2 Solstice 2026 event offers Guardians new Sunlit armor and Silver Ash currency for gear upgrades in the thrilling Bonfire Bash.
The warm, golden light of the Tower greeted me as I stepped through the transmat zone. It was that special time of year again – the Solstice event had returned in 2026, and the air buzzed with excitement. Guardians everywhere were gathering to celebrate, to prove their strength, and to chase the dazzling new Sunlit armor sets. For me, the goal was clear: I needed to master the art of earning Silver Ash, that key currency that would let me fully upgrade my glowing gear. Little did I know the adventure that awaited in the Bonfire Bash.
After talking with Eva Levante, who had set up her usual spot near the old Iron Banner area, I received my first set of Sunlit armor. She explained the three new limited-time currencies – Silver Leaves, Silver Ash, and Kindling. I already had a small stash of Silver Leaves from completing various activities across the system, but now I had to learn the secret of transforming them into the precious Silver Ash. “You’ll need to stoke the flames, Guardian,” Eva said with a knowing smile. “Head to the Bonfire Bash and let the fire do the rest.”

The Director showed a new activity icon floating over the Tower – the Bonfire Bash. But I couldn’t launch it alone; I had to first speak with Eva and don that fresh armor. Once I was suited up, my fireteam and I rallied together. We were three Warlocks, one Titan, and two Hunters, all eager to burn through the Darkness. As we loaded into the activity, a countdown timer appeared on the left side of my HUD, and the real test began.
The battleground was a ruined courtyard where a massive Taken Blight pulsed with malevolent energy. Our first task was to destroy it. We unloaded every weapon we had – fusion rifles, rocket launchers, even a few well-placed Nova Bombs – until the blight shattered, and in its place, a giant bonfire roared to life. I felt the heat through my visor; the flames danced, hungry for more.

Then the call came: “Ignite the Bonfire.” We scanned the area as orange-bar mini-bosses began to spawn – Ignition Carriers, glowing white and marked on our maps. They moved with dangerous intent, and we knew each one held the key to our success. I led a flanking maneuver with my Solar Warlock, dropping a Well of Radiance right beside the first Carrier. The team focused fire, and in seconds it collapsed, leaving behind three brilliant orbs of light.

Here’s where coordination became everything. The orbs only lasted ten seconds, and I could only carry one at a time. I shouted, “Grab and dunk!” as I snatched an orb and sprinted toward the bonfire. My Hunter friend slid in from the left, his arc staff crackling, while our Titan barreled through a mob of Taken psions to claim the third. We threw the orbs into the flames, and the counter for “Igniters Consumed” rose. The bonfire flared higher, its light pushing back the oppressive Shadow.

This rhythm continued – kill Carriers, collect orbs, ignite the bonfire – but the Darkness fought back. Taken mini-bosses materialized on the rooftops, raining arc bolts down upon us. We had to pause our dunking to clear these snipers quickly, or they’d wipe us out. I switched to my sniper rifle and picked off two of them while my fireteam mowed down the rest. Then it was back to the bonfire, faster than before, because every orb we missed meant less Silver Ash at the end.
After several intense loops, the timer hit zero. The ground shook, and a giant Taken boss emerged from a rift, its form writhing with stolen Light. This was the final test. We poured everything into it – Supers, heavy ammo, and sheer grit. As it crumbled into dust, a chest spawned at the bonfire’s base, and the rewards screen appeared. I watched my Silver Leaves transform into a massive pile of Silver Ash, the amount directly boosted by how many Igniters we had consumed. Holding more Leaves before the mission truly paid off – I earned enough Ash in that one run to kindle three armor pieces to their max.

Now I understand the Solstice rhythm: you gather Silver Leaves from playlist activities, then run the Bonfire Bash to convert them into Silver Ash, which lets you upgrade your Sunlit armor’s stats and glows. Kindling, the third currency, comes from Solstice missions and further unlocks the armor’s potential. But the heart of it all is the bonfire itself. It’s a cooperative dance where every second and every orb counts. Missing a dunk doesn’t just lower your score – it costs you real progress. That tension makes each run feel meaningful, and the reward of seeing your armor kindled with brilliant light is absolutely worth it.
If you’re diving into the 2026 Solstice, my advice is simple: put on your full Sunlit set, load up on Silver Leaves, and find a fireteam that communicates. Stick close when Carriers die, priortize orb collection, and don’t get greedy – one orb per Guardian per Carrier is the rule. Between waves, keep an eye on those rooftop snipers, and save your heaviest damage for the final boss. Once you get the hang of it, the Bonfire Bash becomes a beautiful, frantic ballet of fire and Light. I’ll be out there for the rest of the event, chasing perfect armor rolls. See you at the bonfire, Guardians. 🌞🔥
